Go Pro

Open doors you have only imagined.

As a PADI Professional, you do things others only dream of.

Whether you work in a local dive centre, at a resort, or on a live aboard dive boat, the adventure of a lifetime is yours for the taking.

Imagine a job where you actually look forward to heading off to work in the morning. Lead a life others fantasise about. Sailing into incredible sunsets could be the rule, not the exception, especially if you work in a tropical dive destination. The commute to work could be as easy as a ten-minute boat ride. Work now becomes an adventure in itself. While experiencing new cultures and lifestyles, you'll be surrounded by people who are always happy. When you take people diving all day - everyone's happy. It's not all fun and games in paradise, but the rewards are well worth the effort.

If you set your sights close to home and aspire to work at a local dive centre, you teach people how to dive and guide trips to exotic dive destinations. There's a sense of pride sharing something you are passionate about. You help others enrich their own lives by experiencing the adventure of diving.

Divemaster

21012_097_DMEmb06

To ensure high quality, the PADI Divemaster course was thoroughly tested and refined to make it one of the very finest programs of diver education in existence.

The goals of the course are as follows: To enable the candidate to organise, conduct and supervise diving activities, both land and boat based. To enable the candidate to act effectively as an instructional assistant to a certified PADI Instructor. To develop the candidate’s theoretical diving knowledge to a level sufficient to become an Instructor. To encourage and prepare the candidate for Instructor training.

To accomplish these objectives, PADI Divemaster training is divided into three distinct phases or modules, each designed with specific performance objectives in mind.

Module One

Is designed to assess and, if necessary, provide remedial training in general watermanship and diving skills.

Additionally, the candidate’s diver-rescue ability will be assessed (this is why PADI Rescue Diver certification is a prerequisite), and he will be provided an opportunity to develop proficiency in dealing with stress-inducing problems.

These latter two aspects of training are of vital importance when supervising student divers. The instructor will provide more detailed guidance during this phase of training.

Module Two

Is designed to increase knowledge of theory and principles of diving. Using the Divemaster and other PADI texts, the Divemaster candidate will study the topics of: dive planning; dive control and management; supervision of students in addition to diving physics; diving physiology; equipment; diving skills and environment and the Recreational Dive Planner.

Candidates will complete a series of written examinations on these topics

Module Three

Is designed to increase knowledge of theory and principles of diving. Using the Divemaster manual and other PADI texts, the Divemaster candidate will study the topics of: dive planning; dive control and management; supervision of students in addition to diving physics; diving physiology; equipment; diving skills and environment and the Recreational Dive Planner.

Candidates will complete a series of written examinations on these topics

Course Prerequisites

Traditionally, Divemaster courses have included a heavy emphasis on diver-rescue training. In the PADI training progression, however, rescue training is considered a distinct level of competence and a prerequisite to Divemaster training.

Therefore, in order to qualify for PADI Divemaster training, one must first be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver and have at least 20 logged dives. In addition, due to legal considerations, PADI Divemaster candidates must be eighteen years of age or older.

Other essential Divemaster prerequisites are not as easily defined. Divemasters must possess emotional maturity in order to take on the responsibility for the safety of others. Likewise, an equally high degree of physical stamina and diving skills – much more so than that required for the average diver – is crucial in fulfilling the role of Divemaster.

Certification

PADI Divemaster Training is the finest, most thorough in existence and upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded the PADI Divemaster certification card (minimum age 18 years).

In addition, one of the most important benefits of successfully completing Divemaster training is full membership in the PADI association. PADI members are entitled to a subscription to The Undersea Journal (PADI’s quarterly instructional publication), updates to PADI standards and programs, low-cost professional liability insurance and special prices on various product offers.

What Diveline Offer

The Divemaster course may be undertaken at any time. There is no set time frame for completion, you simply enrol on the course and complete the various modules at your own pace. You must however, attend the confined and open water training sessions when they are scheduled. Any specific Divemaster requirements are then scheduled to suit your needs.
